Another Quilting Weekend

Another quilting weekend is coming up this coming weekend and I am eager to get going. I've been busy getting my stuff together. I have a box of projects to work on put together. I intend to finish up some change purses and some more clutch purses. I have some zippers that I want to put into something and use up some of my small pieces of fabric. I have 8 or 9 Expandable Totes all ready to take with me. I have fabric for two more expandable totes that I want to get cut out and ready to machine quilt. I am really looking forward to this weekend.
Work at JoAnn Fabrics has been crazy busy these past few days. Lots of sales going on. I worked last evening and today and I'm working again tomorrow. That will be it til next week.
I am going to take a quick nap before I start dinner. By the way -- The photo is of one of my pretty little Clutch Purses...

The Finished Rainbow Quilt

I finally finished the Rainbow Quilt last night. It seems as if it took me forever to do this one. I like it, but I'm not thrilled with it. I could have laid the blocks out different. I really don't care for the strips of green in it.--- Oh, well, it's done and AJ likes it and that is all that really matters.
The weather warmed up a little today. The temp got up into the mid 20's this afternoon and warmer weather is coming later in the week. Possibly the 30's. There were some light snow flurries.
I'm getting ready for quilting weekend the last weekend in Jan.. I still need to make some more thread catchers. Some have been ordered and I want to make some extras.
I'm still working just weekends at JoAnn Fabrics. It's always like this at this time of year. Business will pick up shortly and I will pick up more hours.
Take care, Everyone...

Anthony's 5th Birthday Party

Here are some of Anthony's 5th birthday pictures that were taken last Sat. the first picture should be of him while we were singing "Happy Birthday". The second one is of him with his Mom and Dad, Tony & Michele. The third one should be of him with both sets of Grandparents. The last one is of him with the quilt I made for him. We all had a great time and he was one really happy little boy.

My "Rag Quilt" & "Snuggle Blanket"

Here is the first "Rag Quilt" that I made this year. I really like it. It is soft and snuggly and light weight.I tried to post these pictures in my previous post, but I messed up.

I made my first " Snuggle Blanket" this year and gave it to our daughter-in-law, Michele, for Christmas. It made a big hit. Now our son, Tony, wants one -- so - guess what he is getting for his b'day next month.

Good night. I need to go sew...

Hi -- I'm still here

Hi, everyone. I'm still here. I got involved over on Face Book and got sort of stuck there. I have been busy making "Rag Quilts". So far I have done about four and I have two more ready to be put together. I had been getting lots of hours in at JoAnn Fabrics during the holiday season, but now that that is over with, my hours have been cut back to weekends. That's a real bummer.

Now that the holidays are over, hopefully life will settle down to a regular routine again. I still need to finish taking the Christmas tree down, but that should be finished in a couple more days. I look forward to getting back to line dancing on Mon. morning, Bible study on Mon. evenings, and quilting Wed. mornings. The Senior Center is offering Tai Chi classes on Thurs. afternoon. I may check them out. I did that a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow is AJ's fifth birthday. We are having a small party at our house tomorrow afternoon for him. The big family party will be next weekend. Our daughter-in-law's grama passed away on Dec 23 and the funeral was last Wed., on the 30th, so there was no time to really plan a birthday party with everything that was going on.

I need to go sew for awhile. I'm getting ready for a quilting weekend the end of the month and I want to get some thread catchers made. A friend has requested some for her quilting group.

I am going to try to post a picture of one of my "Rag Quilts". Wish me luck.

So long for now...

Our First Snow

It started snowing in the early afternoon and now everything is covered and it looks like a picture on a Christmas card. Everything is so white and clean and pretty. Nothing is sticking to the sidewalks and roads, so there is no need to shovel, but that will be coming next. When I came out of work about 4:00 this afternoon I was glad I had dug my snow brush out of the trunk of my car, because I needed it to clear the snow from my windows.

I am in the process of making some aprons for a friends 3 year old grand daughter for Christmas. Anthony has requested a blue striped bag to carry his "Thomas" cars in. He had been using his Mom's purse. Hopefully, we have him convinced that isn't cool and he needs a bag of his own.

I worked all day today and now I'm ready for a quick nap - before I run over to Quizzno's for soup and sandwiches for diner.

Take care

My Little Change Purse

Here is my little Change Purse that I like to make out of left over fabric. It is the perfect size to carry in your pocket. Just right for a little cash or a charge card in the zippered section. There is a pocket on the outside for your business cards. I made my first little change purse when I got tired to carrying my cards in a rubber band or a baggie. That was a tacky thing to do. Not very professional.
I like to add a medal slip ring to the zipper pull tab for an extra key.

I started out the day by going to church, then back home for a combination breakfast/lunch. I had left-overs from Thanksgiving - yummy - . Then I was off to work at JoAnn Fabrics again. We were busy today, but not as busy as the past two days. I'm not schedualed (? sp) to work again til Sat.. Tony and I had pizza for super tonight. Now I'm ready to sew for awhile.

That's about all the excitement for today. Take care
